To complete my favorites series on the blog, I want to do a quick post highlighting my favorite pieces of 2017. From clothes, to bags and fragrance, these are things that I am so glad I bought and pretty much lived in this year!
If you follow me on Instagram or have read my recent posts, it will come as no surprise my absolute favorite purchase of this year, and my favorite bag of all time, is my small Chanel Classic Flap with gold hardware. I’ve said this before, but it really does seem like the ultimate bag. If you are wanting to invest in a timeless classic that will go with everything, I would recommend investing in this. Though I love my bag collection, this is truly the only bag I need, and really if this was the only bag I had, I feel as though my wardrobe would still feel complete.
Living in California means I go to the beach at least once a week and so I always have a couple swimsuits on hand. My favorite of this year is without a doubt my Becca Show & Tell One-Piece Swimsuit. In the past I haven’t really worn one pieces much, but this year I have really loved them. My Becca piece stands out because I love the design, color and, though it’s a one piece, it’s still sexy and shows off my figure, but in a stylish and modest way. I don’t typically care so much about modestly with friends or Alex, but we go to the beach with his parents often and so this piece is perfect. Not to mention its so comfortable and I get a million comments from everyone when I wear it! This is without a doubt my go to swimsuit. (I have the blue one, and it is a lovely dusty blue which I love, but I have also seen someone wearing the black one and it’s very elegant too!)
My Favorite Perfume (Of all time)
Though I’ve worn this long before this year, I wanted to include it in this post anyway. My favorite perfume of all time is my Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud. Though I don’t wear perfume everyday, I pretty much only wear this scent when I do. It’s the perfect subtle rose scent that is not too sweet or floral, but hits just the right notes on your skin. I actually came across this when I got Alex a set of Jo Malone for Valentines day 2016, since it is also meant as a unisex fragrance, but ended up stealing this one from him because I loved it so much! If you would like to sample this, I suggest going to Nordstroms, trust me, you will fall in love.
This might seem like an odd pick because it is so basic, but my favorite top of 2017 is my Storets long sleeve white top with ruched sleeves. When I tell you I have lived in this top this year, I really mean I have lived in this top this year. It’s the best to travel in, run errands, wear to the office, around the house, to a casual dinner, and I even always have it in my beach bag in case it gets cold! It really is the perfect ‘wear anywhere’ top. Weather I pair it with leggings or jeans, it’s such a great go-to top because it has the extra stylish flair on the sleeves – elevating it from a completely basic white top – and it’s loose and never too hot or too cold. I must sound crazy being so obsessed with literally a white long sleeve top, but I really just love this thing! lol
This one was hard because I really do have a lot of favorite shoes this year. I got Louboutins for the first time, and love them for dressy events, my Chanel sandals were lovely and the perfect proposal shoe, but I think my two absolute favorites are my Hermes Sandals and my Stuart Weitzman Highland Boots (which I actually got last year). The Hermes sandals are really great because I probably wear these more than any other shoes I own. I throw them on if I’m just running around town or even to daytime dresses up events and they really just go with everything. I also love that they are slide sandals because I personally can’t do a sandal that has ties, buckets, etc. As for my black Stuart Weitzmans, I also love that these are so versatile. Whether with a short dress or jeans, these boots instantly elevate a look for a more grown up and chic vibe. They are also really comfortable heels and so I think they’re a great investment.
As a girl, I feel like the search for the perfect bra is a never ending tale, but this year I was pretty blown away by the True and Co. True Body Lift Scoop Neck Bra. Seriously, True and Co. did not come to play, this is the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. It’s seamless and, though it looks like a sports bra, it provides support but doesn’t put pressure on any one point on the chest. I live in this bra. Trust me when I say you need this, it’s actually life changing.
Hope you enjoyed this post and WOW I cannot believe 2018 is in two days… it feels like 2010 was just yesterday… lol. But really, thank you for sharing this year with me and following my blog, it really means the world to me to be able to share my life and style with you, it’s what I love! Wishing you a Happy New Years and all the best in the year to come!
