A couple months ago I did a video reviewing Glossier’s Invisible Shield clear sunscreen. Shortly after, I got an email from their amazing team asking if I wanted to be part of the rep program, of course, I said yes!
Since then, I have been trying Glossier products with an unexpected obsession. Below are some of my favorite and least favorite products as well as a brief review of each Glossier product!
Generation G in ‘LIKE’
This pink is the most perfect lavender-y pink I have ever used. It’s so flattering and just the most gorgeous color. I used to be a die-hard Dior Glow gal (and I still am) but this color has definitely eclipsed all others as far as I’m concerned. I wear it almost every day. It has great wear and a lovely matte – ish finish while feeling like a hybrid between a creamy lipstick and a moisturizing balm. You can’t go wrong with this color and product. Update: I have also been recently loving ‘CRUSH,’ a hot raspberry pink that is a little more vibrant than ‘Like’ for when I want my lips to really pop!
Boy Brown in ‘BROWN’
Next up is Boy Brow. I don’t want to be dramatic, or sound cliche, but believe me when I tell you, Boy Brow was life-changing. Before Boy Brow entered my life, I had blocky eyebrows that never looked natural as the result of filling them in with powder (which I hated having to do because it was so time-consuming). But now, with Boy Brow in my life, doing my brows is a quick and easy ritual that leaves them looking naturally sculpted and filled in. Even though Gen G in ‘Like’ is my favorite Glossier product, Boy Brow is the product I cannot live without. It’s a colored wax that fills in and holds brows in place for a natural and tailored look. (Read – instant model brows).
Cloud Pain in ‘HAZE’
When I first got into Glossier I ordered Cloud Paint in Dusk and Beam, both of which were lovely. But, eventually I got my hands on Haze and it instantly became my favorite and go-to. It’s a berry colored paint like cream/gel-blush that perfectly tints and melts into your skin. It’s very blendable and leaves a natural glow. I’m never going back to powdered blush again. It also has collagen in it which ‘retains a high amount of water to hydrate and visually plump skin up with moisture.’
Wowder in Light/Medium
I decided to move this up to one of my must-haves because after 6 or so months of using this powder is has really become a favorite. It is the lightest and most airy powder I have ever used. It might sound dramatic, but it’s like little angel babies float Wowder down onto my face from heaven each time I use it. It’s light and airy, never cakey, and cuts shine in the best way possible. It doesn’t quite mattify but leaves a healthy ‘from within’ glow, sans an oily look. Honestly, it’t the perfect natural glowy yet matte finish. I also really love the brush that comes with it. I have had it for 6 months and even after washes, it has not shed and remains as fresh/soft as when I got it! Note: I have a relatively tan complexion, but I use Light/Medium and I think the color is perfect!
Favorite Skin Care:
Milky Jelly Cleanser
I love this cleanser, it is gentle yet effective. And the texture is so fun! It makes me actually want to wash my face the second I get home! It feels exactly like what it’s called, a milky gel, and it leaves skin feeling clean but not stripped. I really feel like my skin has improved since using this, it feels more resilient as if my natural skin barrier is healthier. (I also really like the Biore Charcoal face cleanser for in-shower use).
This is my favorite pre-makeup moisturizer. It’s supposed to reduce redness (I don’t have redness so I’m not sure about this) and it contains hyaluronic acid to help moisturize the skin. Personally, I find that it is the perfect primer in that it keeps my skin moisturized, reduces oily-ness and creates the perfect balance between a matte finish and natural glow from with it. I also notice that my makeup sits very nicely on top of it. I highly recommend this to use before makeup and think its a great form of daily hyaluronic acid.
Sunscreen is a must. White chalky sunscreen is a must-not. Invisible shield is a clear sunscreen that not only has SPF 35 but also protects your skin from pollution. I love that there is no white cast and that it has a pleasant scent. It also layers seamlessly under makeup.
I have been really impressed by solution and definitely recommend it! I have been struggling with constant breakouts on my left cheek for a couple months now and after using solution, it definitely helped to clear up the breakouts and got rid of my dark spots. I really don’t have much to say about it other than: ‘It works!’
Balm Dot Com
So at first when I tried this, I definitely thought it was an overhyped tube of vaseline… fast forward 6 months and I CANNOT LIVE without my BDC BDC (birthday cake balm dot com). It tastes like heaven and I think this flavor has more castor oil than the other formulas…? I have only tried the rose and BDC, but for some reason, the birthday cake flavor is SO much more moisturizing and just overall better in my opinion. These also make fantastic gifts, especially the birthday cake one for birthdays! The rose scented one does, of course, smell like heaven, but for some reason, the BDC is just better for me.
Last but not least… I would like to (unfortunately) include the items that are a miss for me…
Personally, I did not think these did much for me. I used each of them to the very last drop over the course of 3 months and saw no significant difference in my skin. The Niacinamide did not reduce my PIH at a faster pace and the Vitamin C only brightened my skin minimally. Not enough for me to consider these products worth repurchasing (My Pixi Glow tonic was better for brightening than the Vitamin C, imo). I did, however, enjoy the Hyaluronic Acid serum, but I would prefer to just use the Priming Moisturizer to get my daily hyaluronic acid and save $30, so, again I don’t think it’s worth it. They are very cute though and you might like them regardless of my opinion!
I wanted to like this. I really did, but ultimately I just think it wasn’t for me. It seemed like everyone went crazy about it when it came out, but honestly, it really did nothing for me… and I was maybe even slightly disappointed. My favorite fragrance is the Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud, which may tell you a little bit about what I do like; something rose that is not too floral or too sweet but that is floral and slightly savory. Feminine, elegant, slightly masculine even, but not anything close to a typical floral scent you would immediately think of. It’s possible that the Jo Malone cologne is so much so my ideal scent that nothing compares (truthfully anytime I wear anything else I regret it). It’s also just possible that the Glossier You is not at all what I want in a scent. I don’t know. I’m almost confused writing this because I can’t even pinpoint why I didn’t like Glossier you… I just… didn’t…
The Remaining Products:
Body Hero – I think each time I use the Body Here body wash I flip back and forth between whether or not I like it. I LOVE how gentle it is, but I sometimes feel like I’m not really getting clean… if you know what I mean. I’m glad to have the Daily Oil Wash as part of my shower routine, but I don’t think that it is a must-have. (But I do love how gentle it is for a daily body wash!) As far as the Body Lotion (Daily Perfecting Cream), I do really love it, but again, it’s not the most moisturizing I’ve used and I don’t think the scent is anything to write home about (it’s like a powdery baby scent)… Would I pick it over your standard drugstore lotion? Absolutely! Will I tell you it’s the best thing I’ve ever used? Not particularly.
Lidstar – Glossier sent me Lidstar in Fawn and I think it is a lovely color! However, as I talked about on my IG stories, I am really not an eyeshadow person, I just don’t think it looks great on me. So aside from the fact that Fawn is a nice color, I really can’t say much more given my lack experience in the eyeshadow realm and because I really have nothing to compare it to!
Haloscope in Quartz – Great for a natural glow! I use this regularly.
Stretch Concealer – Love the little guy for light coverage.
Skin Tint – This is a very very very light foundation, perfect for errands or work. I love it for daily use because I hate wearing normal foundation. (But right now my go-to foundation for events and photos is The Ordinary Serum Foundation)
Lip Gloss – Lovely product, I just rarely wear lip gloss.
Moon Mask – I have used this once and liked it.
Thank you for reading this review, I spend months testing the Glossier products and hope my opinions and reviews can give you some insight to the products! I have yet to try the Mega Greens Galaxy Mask, Soothing Mist, and the Ultra Priming Moisturizer but will update this post as I try those and as new products come out!
